Rio Tinto expects China's booming economy to consume over half of global key resources in the next ten years. Within the next couple of years China's demand will move to 58% of all iron ore, 45% of aluminium and a third of all copper. Rio Tinto's chief economist Vivek Tulpule told the UK media that the growing consumption rate of China would see political "concerns" rise as the country attempts to ensure it can access the resources needed for economic sustainability and growth. from Business Spectator.
